CRC ZINC PRIMER Corrosion protective primer, easy to paint over. A Zinc-Phosphate primer for metal surfaces. Dries quickly. Improves adhesion of the finishing coating. A corrosion protective additive slows down corrosion. Can be painted over with all kinds of single component paints, already after one hour. 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Multi-purpose zinc phosphate primer. A zinc phosphate based, fast drying protective primer for metal surfaces. Formulated with modified alkyd resins, zinc phosphate and other anti-corrosion pigments. Zinc Primer fights rust and gives longer lasting interior and exterior corrosion resistance to topcoats. 2. FEATURES • Ensures better topcoat adhesion and coverage. • Retains topcoat colour brilliance. • Grey colour is suitable even for light topcoat colours. • Repaintable with all one-component paints, already after 1 hour. • Slows down rust by inhibition and complex building. • Saves pre-paint time by quickly filling hairline cracks and slight imperfections. • Fast drying. • Strong adhesion on degreased, bare metal surfaces. Surface preparation (e.g. by sanding, scraping, …) may be needed for oxidised or galvanised surfaces. • Totally lead and chromate free. • No chlorinated and no aromatic solvents. • Aerosols use dimethylether (DME) propellant for controlled application and film properties. 3. APPLICATIONS • Car bodywork • Farm machinery and equipment • Boat fittings • Steel building elements • Metal windows • Chassis and frames • Seams • Spot welds 4. DIRECTIONS • Shake aerosol can very well for at least one minute after agitator ball is free. Stir or mix bulk product well to obtain a homogeneous dispersion. Repeat frequently while using. • Apply to a clean, degreased, dry surface for best results. Remove rust and scale with a wire brush. • Apply in light, even coats; best results are obtained with 2 lighter rather than 1 heavy coat. Topcoat is best applied after 12 to 48 h. A slight sanding is advised. • When spraying is finished, clean aerosol valve by turning can upside down and press button until only propellant escapes. If clogging occurs, remove button and clean orifice with fine wire.
